HIGH  NORMANDIE

The Normandy is formed of two Regions. It is the Bass-Normandy and the High-Normandy. 
The High-Normandy is an administrative region of France, formed of departments :

- of  l'Eure (27)     519 300 h
- of  la Seine Maritime (76) 1 229 500 h


County seat: Rouen. 
The Prefecture of region is situated in Rouen. 
The surface is 12 317 km². 
The population of 1 748 800 inhabitants. 
Inhabitants are Normands.


 TO KNOW

It is the first region of province in the ordering of the value added by use. 
The Low Seine detains 38,2% of the refinement French capacity. 
One notes the presence of 4 refineries belongs to Esso, Mobil, Shell and Total. 

It is an industrial Strength. 
She represents 30% of the active population. 
56 societies have more than 500 salaried employee. 
It is 50% of the industrial uses in Seine Maritime.


GEOGRAPHY

The High-Normandy has a certain unit. 
She is owed to her humid climate and the extension of the bovine raising mainly for her dairy products. 
The west makes part of the Armorican Massif and the East of the Parisian Basin. 
The high Normandy has for Rouen capital. 
To the north of the Seine, she is constituted of the country of Caux, of the country of Bray and the Norman Vexin. 
To the south, one finds countrysides of the Neubourg and Saint-André, the Lieuvin, the country of Ouche and the Roumois. 

It is especially the valley of the low Seine that welcomes the industry. 
Around the Havre and Rouen one has before-harbors of Paris. They treat the refinement of oil, the chemical, mechanical industries and textiles. 
One finds other harbors like Cherbourg, Dieppe or Fécamp. 
Sea resorts stake out the coastline. 
To note the presence of three nuclear power stations as Flamanville, Patuel and Penly, and the center of reprocessing of the nuclear fuels of la Hague.
